GEELONG has taken Tom Stewart and Esava Ratugolea off its out-of-contract list ahead of a busy year of list management.

In recent months the Cats have quietly gone about re-signing the pair beyond their initial two-year deals, until the end of 2019.

Taken in the 2016 NAB AFL Draft, Stewart and Ratugolea have both found their spot in Geelong's best side this season.

Stewart was drafted as a mature-age player from Geelong's VFL team, the 23-year-old playing 24 of a possible 28 games to date.

Debuting in round one this season, Ratugolea was picked as Geelong's starting ruckman in last week's loss to West Coast ahead of Zac Smith and Rhys Stanley.

Stanley is among a host of out-of-contract players Stephen Wells and his list management team will deal with this year.

Signing a one-year contract at the end of 2017, Daniel Menzel (unrestricted) remains a free agent out of contract at season's end along with George Horlin-Smith (unrestricted) and Cam Guthrie (restricted).

Mark Blicavs, Jordan Murdoch, Cory Gregson and Jackson Thurlow remain unsigned for 2019.
