Footy fans heading to AFL Gather Round will have a new place to meet, celebrate and keep the party going across the festival of footy, with the launch of Next Door hosted by Hard Rated, a live site designed to bring fans together and revel in AFL Gather Round festivities.
Located next door to all the Adelaide Oval action at The Drive, Next Door is set to become the place to be throughout Gather Round when fans aren’t at the footy, offering a mix of live entertainment, footy on the big screen and music across the week.
On the Saturday evening ARIA Award-winning Australian indie rock band DMA’S take to the stage for a live performance at 5.15pm, between the matchups at Adelaide Oval of Essendon v Melbourne and Hawthorn v Western Bulldogs, with the band to keep the Gather Round party and momentum rolling throughout a big day of footy.
The announcement coincides with today's release of their new single ‘My Baby’s Place’!
On other days, fans can expect a rotating program of activity including live DJ's and hosted watch parties with some of the game’s biggest content creators with the program kicking off on Thursday night with football content creator and podcaster Dan Gorringe alongside co-host Joey Lopez, who will bring #1 ANZ podcast Dan Does Footy to the Next Door stage ahead of the sold-out opening game between Adelaide and Carlton at Adelaide Oval.
Other acts that are set to bring some of the game’s most viral voices and personalities directly to the crowd for candid conversations, interviews and fan engagement include Marmalade and Shepmates.
Whether fans are arriving early, staying between games or celebrating afterwards, the party will always be Next Door throughout the Gather Round weekend.
Next Door will operate across the entire AFL Gather Round weekend for free, outside of the DMA’S concert, with the full program of DJs, entertainment and fan activations to be announced soon.
