OUT-OF-CONTRACT Adelaide midfielder Jarryd Lyons has requested a trade to Gold Coast.

The Victorian had a breakout season this year, playing 20 games and averaging 21 disposals as he establishing himself in the Crows' best 22.

AFL.com.au reported on Tuesday that Lyons could land at the Suns.

Adelaide had an offer on the table for the 24-year-old but club and player couldn't reach an agreement.

The Crows signed forward Josh Jenkins and onballer Brad Crouch on long-term deals earlier this season and as of Wednesday, were in the running to secure Bryce Gibbs from Carlton.

Gibbs is contracted at the Blues until the end of 2019.

The Crows finished fifth at the end of the home and away season and bowed out in the semi-finals after losing to the Sydney Swans in Don Pyke's first season at the helm.

With Lyons set on Gold Coast, the Hawks could try and get involved as they look to find a suitable trade for gun youngster Jaeger O'Meara.

The Suns have rejected Hawthorn's offer of picks No.10 and 48 for O'Meara.
