AFTER a horror 2016, Fremantle's pre-season of redemption didn't get off to a great start with Michael Johnson, Shane Yarran and Harley Bennell all finding themselves on the wrong side of the law.

But from a football perspective, the Dockers' bid for redemption could hardly have had a more promising start.

Superstar midfielder Nat Fyfe appears fit again and building the sort of fitness that should see him return to his best.

Running machine Bradley Hill has joined his brother Stephen, while Geelong forward Shane Kersten and premiership Western Bulldogs defender Joel Hamling have boosted the key posts at either end.

Talented but troubled ex-Giant Cam McCarthy's tortuous journey to Fremantle has finally been completed and he looks in good nick.

Finally, in the No.8 pick at the NAB AFL Draft, Griffin Logue, the Dockers look to have a ready-made key defender with elite athletic ability.
