COLLINGWOOD has added former Greater Western Sydney midfielder Taylor Adams and premiership utility Brent Macaffer to its five-man leadership group to be unveiled on Thursday.

The duo join skipper Scott Pendlebury, midfielder Steele Sidebottom and defender Nathan Brown as the Magpies look to re-establish themselves a finals team after a two-year absence from September action.

Adams has played just 30 games for the Magpies but finished fourth in the club best and fairest in just his second year under Nathan Buckley, who coached him in representative football as a junior.

Despite the frustration of two knee reconstructions, the respected Macaffer – who missed 2015 with a knee injury – is a significant figure within the young group and one of just 10 Magpies from the 2010 premiership team still at the club.

Travis Cloke and Tyson Goldsack were members of the leadership group in 2015 but were relieved of official duties in 2016.
