Collingwood has signed VFLW captain Dom Carbone to its AFLW list ahead of the 2026 season.

The elevation follows the news that first-year Pie Matilda Argus sustained an ACL injury during last weekend’s match simulation against North Melbourne.  

Carbone has led from the front since joining the Magpies' VFLW program ahead of the 2025 season, with her impressive performances pivotal in the side’s strong start to 2026.

Throughout her nine VFLW games this year, Carbone has averaged 23.1 disposals, 4.3 clearances and 5.9 tackles per game. She currently sits fourth in the league’s goal kicking with 11 majors.  

Carbone’s elevation follows years of consistently strong performances at VFLW level, including last year where she claimed the Pies’ VFLW Best and Fairest award and was named the inaugural VFLW State Team Captain, where she led Victoria to a 27-point victory and was named best on ground. 

Prior to joining the black and white, Carbone played for the Western Bulldog’s VFLW side, where she claimed the 2024 Lambert-Pearce Medal as the league’s best and fairest player.  

Carbone has also played eight AFLW games, two at the Western Bulldogs in 2023 and six with Hawthorn during Season 7 (2022).  

General Manager of Women's Football Jess Burger celebrated Carbone’s elevation.
