ON SATURDAY night, Izak Rankine dragged Adelaide to victory with a memorable performance. Now, Champion Data has logged his game as the best individual display in a decade.

In wet conditions, Rankine single-handedly hauled the Crows to a gritty win over Richmond with a performance that featured 36 disposals, 18 contested possessions, 11 clearances, six tackles, seven inside-50s, 795m gained and a classy goal.

That culminated in a whopping 223 ranking points. According to Champion Data, that was the most ever recorded by an Adelaide player, the most recorded by anyone in more than 10 years, and the 14th biggest game on record.

Rankine was on 58 ranking points at half-time, a good but by no means outstanding game. But then he went off. He added 22 disposals and a goal in the second half, helping him rack up 184 points after half-time to crack the rare double ton and elevate his game into statistical folklore.

But the performance still fell some way short of Collingwood champion Nathan Buckley's record of 268 points. That came during a clash against Adelaide back in 2001 where he finished with 37 disposals, two goals, 11 clearances, seven tackles and eight inside-50s in a narrow two-point win.

Essendon great Matthew Lloyd is second with 249 points after kicking 13 goals from 26 disposals and 14 marks against Sydney in 1999. Carlton's Scott Camporeale then racked up 240 points for a 32-disposal and four-goal game against Geelong in 2004, tied with Simon Black for third-most following his 34-disposal and two-goal performance against the Cats in 2001.

Rankine's game was the most ranking points anyone had achieved in more than 10 years, having fallen just short of Patrick Dangerfield's 231-point game for Geelong back in 2016 when he had 48 disposals, two goals and 13 clearances in a win over North Melbourne.

Champion Data's ranking points system differs to its player ratings mechanism, with the latter viewed as the more definitive metric to define influence on a game. Rankine's performance was also worth 28.4 player ratings points, a new career high after he registered his previous best of 28.2 points only last week against Essendon.

But Rankine's 28.4 ratings points only clocked in as the 20th best performance of the 2026 season. Already, 11 players have gone beyond 30 ratings points this year, with Christian Petracca's Opening Round performance for Gold Coast against Geelong registering 36.9 points and making it the best to date in 2026.

Petracca finished with 34 disposals, three goals, 15 contested possessions, six clearances, 10 inside-50s, 12 score involvements and 678m gained in that first-up win against the Cats.
