IT ALL comes down to this.

We already know the identity of the 10 teams who will play finals this season, but the final ladder positions and finals match-ups are still yet to be determined.

There are a multitude of possibilities heading into the final round of the season, so we have broken it all down for you below.

What happens if your team wins in round 24? What happens if they lose? Can they secure a week off? And who will they play in their opening final? Read on for all the permutations heading into round 24. 

Editor's note: The below does not include the Saints v Suns, Bombers v Power or Swans v Kangaroos games as they are not relevant to the make-up of the top 10.

Friday, August 21

Collingwood v Brisbane at the MCG, 7.40pm AEST

If the Magpies win ...

- They will guarantee eighth spot and a home wildcard final at the MCG against either the Western Bulldogs or Carlton
- The Pies could theoretically overtake both Adelaide and Geelong, but would need to thrash the Lions and hope their rivals are beaten badly to pass them on percentage (they're currently 9.0 behind the Crows and 14.1 behind the Cats)
- The Lions could fall as low as seventh place, depending on other results
- The Lions would fall below the Hawks, Dees and Cats if those teams win and the Lions lose, while the Crows could also go ahead of them if they beat GWS and make up 4.4 per cent on the Lions

If the Lions win ...

- They will all but guarantee a top-four finish
- If the Lions win and maintain their percentage lead over Hawthorn (currently +2.2), they will play Sydney in a qualifying final at the SCG
- If the Hawks win and overtake the Lions on percentage, the Lions will drop to fourth and play Fremantle in a qualifying final at Optus Stadium
- The Lions could win and fall out of the top four, but would need to be overtaken on percentage by the Hawks (currently +2.2) and the Demons (currently +8.3) to miss the double chance
- The Magpies would drop to ninth, if the Bulldogs beat the Demons. They would then play the Bulldogs in a wildcard final.
- The Pies would play the Blues if the Blues beat the Dockers and the Dogs lose to the Demons

Saturday, August 22

Carlton v Fremantle at Marvel Stadium, 1.15pm AEST

If the Blues win ...

- They would finish ninth, assuming the Bulldogs lose to the Demons, and face a likely wildcard final against Collingwood at the MCG
- If both the Blues and Bulldogs win, the Blues would finish 10th and play an away wildcard final, most likely against Melbourne
- The Dockers would still finish first and play a home qualifying final, most likely against the Hawks
- They could also potentially play the Lions, Demons, Cats or Crows in the qualifying final, depending on other results

If the Dockers win ...

- The Blues would finish 10th and play an away wildcard final, most likely against Adelaide
- They could also potentially play the Cats, Demons, Hawks or Lions in the wildcard final, depending on other results
- The Dockers would finish first and play a home qualifying final against one of the Lions, Hawks, Demons, Cats or Crows

Melbourne v Western Bulldogs at the MCG, 4.15pm AEST

If the Demons win ...

- They would guarantee a top-six finish and a week off
- They would finish in the top four if one of the Lions or Hawks lose
- They could theoretically move ahead of both the Lions and Hawks even if all three teams win, but the Demons would have to make up 6.1 per cent on the Hawks and 8.3 per cent on the Lions
- If the Demons finish outside the top four, they will host a home elimination final
- The Bulldogs would finish 10th, provided the Blues beat the Dockers
- If the Blues also lose, the Bulldogs would finish ninth and likely play the Magpies in a wildcard final

If the Bulldogs win ...

- They will guarantee a wildcard final against Collingwood, unless the Pies win, the Crows lose and the Pies make up 9 per cent on the Crows
- If the Pies lose, the Bulldogs would finish eighth
- If the Pies also win, the Bulldogs would finish ninth
- The Demons would fall to seventh and play a home wildcard final, provided the Cats and Crows both win
- If one of the Cats or Crows lose, the Dees would still finish in the top six and get a week off

Geelong v Richmond at GMHBA Stadium, 7.45pm AEST

If the Cats win ...

- They would all but guarantee a top-six finish and a week off
- If the Crows also win and make up 5.1 per cent on the Cats, Geelong would drop to seventh, provided the Lions, Hawks and Demons also win
- The Cats would finish top four if two of the Lions, Hawks and Demons lose
- If the Cats finish outside the top four, they will host a home final

If the Tigers win ...

- The Cats would drop to seventh, provided the Crows beat the Giants

Adelaide v Greater Western Sydney at Adelaide Oval, 7.40pm ACST

If the Crows win ...

- They could finish in the top six, provided one of the Cats, Demons, Hawks and Lions lose and there is a necessary percentage swing
- If all of the Cats, Demons, Hawks and Lions win, the Crows will finish seventh and host a wildcard final against either Carlton or the Bulldogs
- The Crows could theoretically overtake the Cats even if the Cats win, but would need to make up 5.1 per cent
- In order to overtake the Hawks and Lions, those teams would have to lose and the Crows would need to make up 2.2 or 4.4 on percentage, respectively
- The Crows could theoretically finish in the top four if three of the Cats, Demons, Hawks and Lions all lose and they make up percentage

If the Giants win ...

- The Crows would host a wildcard final against either Carlton or the Bulldogs
- If the Magpies win and make up 9.0 per cent on the Crows, the Crows would drop to eighth

Sunday, August 23

West Coast v Hawthorn at Optus Stadium, 5.20pm AWST

If the Eagles win ...

- The Hawks could theoretically drop to seventh spot and into a wildcard final
- If the Demons and Cats win and the Crows beat the Giants and make up 2.2 per cent on the Hawks, the Hawks would finish seventh and host a wildcard final against either the Blues or Bulldogs
- If one of the above results happen, the Hawks would drop out of the top four and, at best, host an elimination final
- The Hawks would still finish fourth, provided the Demons, Cats and Crows also lose

If the Hawks win ...

- They would guarantee a top-four spot and an away qualifying final
- If the Lions also win, the Hawks would likely play the Dockers in Perth in their qualifying final
- If the Lions lose, the Hawks would move to third and face the Swans in Sydney
- The Hawks could jump to third even if the Lions win, but they would need to make up 2.2 per cent on Brisbane
