ST KILDA and Gold Coast both close out their seasons when they open round 24 at Marvel Stadium on Thursday night in what will be Bradley Hill's 300th AFL match.
Both sides are out of wildcard contention after a disappointing campaign.
SAINTS v SUNS Follow it LIVE
The Saints (10-12) again proved that they are a class above the sides sitting below them on the ladder as they brushed aside Richmond last week.
But they now have little more than pride to play for against the Suns and will be left to rue a 1-11 record against the 10 finalists.
Gold Coast (8-14) challenged arch rival Brisbane for a half before being outclassed as it continued its collapse with an 11th defeat from the past 12 matches.
The Suns are left searching for positives to carry into the off-season, although even a victory over the Saints might be bittersweet as a rise from the bottom five would rule them out of the gaining a bonus second-round pick under new draft rules.
But Damien Hardwick has lost a number of key players, with Christian Petracca, Sam Collins and Wil Powell out injured. Into the side come Nick Holman for his farewell game, Jarrod Witts and Ben Jepson.
The Saints have recalled Dougal Howard, who is also playing his final AFL match, along with Liam Ryan while Jack Higgins and Alix Tauru are out.
