Port Melbourne confirmed its place in the 2026 VFLW finals series after an 11-point victory over Box Hill at Box Hill City Oval. The Borough was responsible for the only goal of the first half in a low scoring encounter and led by six points at the main break in what was an even affair. The Hawks would be the better of the two sides for most of the third term with multiple inside 50 entries, before they found their first goal of the game at the 12-minute mark to hit the lead. But the away side would respond immediately with a goal just a minute later, before putting the hosts on the backfoot with three consecutive behinds to go seven points in front at the final change. Port Melbourne would kick the first two goals of the last quarter to put the game beyond doubt, holding out a spirited effort by the Hawks in the final five minutes. Eimear Scally played a brilliant role in the win, with 21 disposals, six clearances and a goal, and Lauren Caruso had some great moments in defence, finishing with 22 touches and 10 intercept possessions. Hannah Stuart’s terrific season at Box Hill continued into Saturday’s match, amassing 24 disposals, 10 clearances and five tackles, while teammate Stasia Stevenson was just as impressive with 23 disposals and 12 tackles.

North Melbourne Werribee continues to have the edge over Collingwood, winning their second Grand Final rematch by six points in a great encounter at Arden Street Oval. The Roos looked switched on from the outset, with two Emma King goals inside three minutes of play helping her side establish a buffer, however the Pies would be quick to swing the momentum back their way, responding with two goals of their own to establish a three-point quarter time lead. King’s terrific goalkicking continued, again having an impact early in the quarter with the first of the second term, as her side would win the quarter by seven points to take a narrow four-point lead into half time. The home side would have the opportunity to extend their advantage in the initial stages of the third quarter but only managed three consecutive behinds. Collingwood sensed the opportunity and made their opponents pay, more specifically Amelia Peck who kicked consecutive majors to help Collingwood lead by six points. Despite conceding the opening goal of the final term, the Pies would be in a position to win the game when they led by seven points with eight minutes remaining. But the last period of the game would be dominated by the reigning premiers who kicked the final two goals of the game to return to the winners list. King finished with three majors while Poppy Schaap saluted with two goals. Collingwood were led well by Tahlia Sanger who had 24 disposals and seven intercept possessions, with Amelia Peck kicking three goals to make it 26 for the season.

The Western Bulldogs have all but secured finals action after a dominant triumph over the Darebin Falcons at Preston City Oval, winning by 75 points. The Bulldogs’ ability to win consecutive clearances and dominant possession was clear from the first term, as they kicked two goals in each of the first two terms whilst keeping the Falcons to without a goal to help create a 25-point advantage. The second half would be where the Dogs ensured they wouldn’t be leaving with any less than the four points, piling on four goals to nil in the third term before a massive six-goal last quarter helped the home side secure their highest score since Round 7, 2021, which was also against the Falcons. The large margin of victory, also helped the Western Bulldogs take a big step towards a finals berth, as they gained 17% and moved 28.5% ahead of the seventh placed Cats with one round to play. Three Dogs kicked multiple goals, headlined by Analea McKee who took 11 marks and booted five goals in her fourth VFLW game of the season. Emmy Nekrep and Olivia Jesser booted three majors apiece, whilst Keeley Hardingham dominated in the ruck with 20 disposals, 25 hit outs and seven clearances. Isabella Daddo was a standout for Darebin with 26 disposals, nine tackles and seven intercept possessions.

Carlton’s winning run came to an end on Saturday, all while giving Geelong a slim hope of a top six finish, as the Cats prevailed by three points at Ikon Park. The Blues, who were looking for their seventh straight victory, kicked the sole major of the opening term to lead by six points at quarter time before they were kept scoreless by the Cats who kicked one goal from three scoring shots to go into the half time break ahead by two points. Both sides were hard to split in the third quarter with scores level at one point before the away side settled for a narrow one-point lead approaching the last quarter. Both sides produced two behinds a piece before Nikita Harris converted her set shot opportunity from 35 metres out in what proved to be the winning goal for Geelong despite a late Blues major with 30 seconds remaining. Jasmin Stewart was one of her side’s three goalkickers for the match and also led the Cats in disposals with 22, meanwhile Axel Oswald had 15 intercept possessions. Lucy Burke was excellent for Carlton in defence, amassing 23 disposals, 14 rebound 50s and eight intercept possessions, whilst Ellie Sbeghan had 40 hit outs.

Tasmania picked up their fifth win of the season in a standalone Sunday clash with Casey, winning by 23 points at Casey Fields. The Demons started positively with the first goal of the game before the Devils got to work with three goals in eight minutes, two of them courtesy of Ava Read, to go 13 points in front at quarter time. Read would maintain her influence on the game with her third major coming just three minutes into the second term before the home side produced their most impressive period of the game, kicking the last two goals of the half to stay in the hunt with a seven-point deficit to chase at half time. Casey would stay competitive with the margin remaining at single figures until the 15-minute mark when Read’s fourth major sparked successive goals to give the visitors a 20-point advantage by the final change. The gap proved to be enough in the end with both sides registering a goal apiece to close out the contest. Read’s four majors takes her tally to 18 for the season, but she has now booted 13 majors in her last four games for the Devils. Others to impress for the away side included Angelica Clark who had 24 disposals, eight clearances and four inside 50s, as well as Perri King who finished with 19 disposals, nine clearances and nine tackles. Meg Macondald was Casey’s best once again amassing 24 disposals, eight clearances and six tackles.
