HAWTHORN has had 'Tasmania' or 'Tasmanian' emblazoned across the front of its guernsey since 2007, but it won't be there for the final year of the Hawks' partnership with the state.

The Hawks have hosted games in Launceston 2001 and will play four more games out of University of Tasmania Stadium in 2027.

But with the Tasmania Devils entering the AFL in 2028, Hawthorn's lucrative partnership with the Apple Isle is coming to a conclusion at the end of next season.

Replacing that financial commitment to the club has been a key focus for Hawthorn CEO Ash Klein and the commercial department at the Kennedy Community Centre this year.

But in a major boost for the Hawks, they have already signed a new major sponsor to replace 'Tasmanian' on the front of the jumper for 2027, which will be revealed in the coming weeks.

"As part of the club's deal with the Tasmanian Government, the branding component of sponsorship agreement finishes at the conclusion of this season," a Hawthorn spokesperson told AFL.com.au on Thursday.

"It is important to note, Hawthorn's four home games in Launceston, as well as the community work the club does in the north of the state will continue in 2027.

"We can't wait to celebrate Hawthorn's connection with the Tasmanian community, alongside our members and fans across the north of the state throughout 2027."

All four flags of the Alastair Clarkson era featured Tasmania on the front of the premiership jumper, before a cup tour down south.
