BRISBANE gun Zac Bailey has turned down interest from Adelaide to recommit to the Lions on an eight-year deal.

A restricted free agent this year, Bailey, 26, was being chased hard by the Crows.

But the two-time All Australian has decided to remain with the Lions on a deal until the end of 2034.

Bailey has enjoyed another excellent season at Brisbane, kicking 31 goals in 23 games while averaging career-highs for disposals (21.7) and clearances (three).

His re-signing is a huge boost for the Lions, who host Adelaide in a semi-final at the Gabba on Saturday night.

The two-time reigning premiers are expected to lose star midfielder Lachie Neale as an unrestricted free agent this off-season.

"I love the environment here, the players, coaches and staff who all make it a great place to be and I feel like this club continues to bring the best out of me," he said.

"This club means so much to me - I came here as a young player and have grown up here and to know I will be here long-term is something I'm really proud of.

"I love what we as a club have achieved during my time here and I am super excited about what we can continue to achieve together."

Last month, 91 per cent of Brisbane fans who responded to AFL.com.au's Fan Trade Pulse survey last month said they would have been unhappy to see Bailey leave. 

In contrast, the dynamic Lion was the preferred target for Adelaide fans, with Crows supporters rating Bailey's potential arrival as a 8.1 out of 10. And only 37 per cent of Crows fans believed that their side could win the 2027 premiership without adding another talented midfielder.
