North Melbourne Werribee has included AFLW-listed midfielder Abby Favell and former Collingwood and Fremantle defender Mikayla Hyde for the second preliminary final.

The duo further bolster the two-time reigning premiers in their clash with Collingwood at Arden Street Oval.

Collingwood has swung two changes for the highly-anticipated rematch of last year’s Grand Final, with emerging AFLW-listed forward Georgia Knight and in-form young star Stella Huxtable both returning after missing last week’s one-point win over the Western Bulldogs in the first elimination final.

The Roos will take four AFLW-listed players into the match (Favell, Shauna McElligott, Maddison Torpey and Sarah Wall), while the Magpies have three (Ellie Brady, Olivia Lewis and Knight).

North Melbourne Werribee has won its past three encounters against the Magpies, including the 2025 premiership decider, however all three matches have been decided by one goal or less.

Williamstown and Port Melbourne will be without their captain in the first preliminary final at DSV Stadium.

Seagulls skipper Eliza Straford will miss with a foot injury but is expected to be fit should her team progress to the Grand Final next week.

Teagan Brett returns in Straford’s absence, alongside Western Jets duo Addison West and Kiara Boyd as part of three changes

Meanwhile, Port Melbourne co-captain Olivia Barton was injured early in her return during the second semi final win over Carlton last week and goes out of the Borough line-up, along with Emily Harley.

Lisa Davie and Seisia White have been recalled by the Borough as they chase a return to the premiership decider for the first time since winning the 2023 flag.
