The Dandenong Stingrays secured their first Talent League premiership with a 30-point Grand Final win over the Oakleigh Chargers at Mission Whitten Oval.

After falling to Grand Final defeats in 2025 and 2022, it was a case of third time lucky for the Stingrays in the 9.3 (57) to 3.9 (27) triumph.

They became the first Country team to win a Talent League premiership across the boys and girls competitions since 2018.

The result handed the Chargers their first Grand Final defeat, following premiership wins in 2024, 2023 and 2021.

Dandenong Stingrays star Zoe Zach was awarded the best on ground medal for a dominant performance, racking up 22 disposals, six tackles and a goal.

Kicking with the breeze in the first term, Dandenong looked to be in a spot of bother when trailing by five points at the first change.

They remained behind until the midway part of the second quarter, before a 10-minute onslaught saw them pile on four goals in eight minutes via Hannah Griffiths, Annie Clish, Molly Reimers and Scarlett Marsh to take a 17-point advantage into half time.

When Zoe Zach nailed a goal early in the third term, the Stingrays were well on their way to victory.

Dandenong booted eight consecutive goals from the midway point of the second term to the eight-minute mark of the final quarter to ensure they secured the flag in a season they went undefeated.
