GIPPSLAND Power forwards Wil Malady and Cody Templeton have starred to take their team to its first under-18 premiership since 2005 with five goals each in the Talent League Grand Final win over the Dandenong Stingrays.

Templeton, who has shown across several years his smarts as a half-forward and midfielder, stepped up in his biggest game yet to kick an equal game-high five goals from 19 disposals as the Power beat the Stingrays by 35 points to clinch their first flag in more than two decades.

Templeton has been invited to test at the Victorian state Draft Combine next month but boosted his stocks in the clash, as Gippsland ran away with the win in the second half to clinch the premiership 16.10 (106) to 10.11 (71) at Mission Whitten Oval on Saturday.

Templeton wasn't alone in producing on the highest stage in the Talent League as the Power captured their first flag since Dale Thomas was named best afield in the Power's 2005 Grand Final win, with Scott Pendlebury his teammate that day.

Potential top-10 draftee Malady also produced an excellent game in attack, booting five goals and turning the game Gippsland's way in a standout third term that showed why clubs rate him highly at the top end of the draft.

Judd Burgiel (29 disposals) was a consistent contributor for the Power, while Hawks Next Generation Academy prospect Keenan Boi kicked two goals from 13 touches and again showed flashes of his talent in attack.

For Dandenong, Ben Carroll finished with 1.2 from 29 disposals, while small forward Marcus Prasad kicked a goal from 21 touches and was lively in attack. Andrio Sousa, who has captured interest from clubs, was also one of Dandenong's best with two goals from 18 disposals.
