The Brisbane Lions’ Conor McKenna has claimed the 2026 Coles AFL Goal of the Year for his ‘impossible’ finish in Round 24.
McKenna edged out the Western Bulldogs’ Bailey Williams and Melbourne’s Kysaiah Pickett to receive the Phil Manassa Medal at Monday night’s Brownlow Medal Count.
The Irishman produced a moment of brilliance against Collingwood, forcing an intercept before showcasing his Gaelic touch with a miraculous goal that secured Goal of the Year honours.
As the winner of the 2026 Coles AFL Goal of the Year, McKenna receives $50,000 thanks to Coles.
Coles Chief Customer Experience Officer Michael Courtney congratulated McKenna on taking out the 2026 Coles AFL Goal of the Year.
"We know how much Australians love their footy, and it’s fantastic to celebrate the moments that get fans out of their seats and make our game so great," Courtney said.
McKenna’s goal was voted the overall winner by the AFL All Australian Panel.
Fans who voted for their favourite goal also went into the running to win $5,000 thanks to Coles.
