SYDNEY'S five banned players are expected to return to the club this week after the Swans' season ended in the preliminary final.

The five players who were suspended by the club after the Pullman Hotel incident in August after their round 24 win over Essendon – Isaac Heeney, Chad Warner, Nick Blakey, James Jordon and Riley Bice – have not been back at the Swans' headquarters with the group since that tumultuous week.

However, it is understood the expectation at this stage is for the players to return to the club in some form this week, with the club still working through how that looks and whether formalised exit meetings will occur.

There is also the possibility of the players addressing the wider playing group before they go on their breaks.

It is believed teammates at the Swans have continued to keep in close contact with the suspended players, with Jordon understood to have recently caught up with a group of Swans players as they work through getting their team back together.

While the futures of some players have been unclear, including Blakey, who rival clubs believe is open to a fresh start at another club after the incident, Warner has reiterated to the Swans he is keen to work back and return for season 2027, after which he will become a free agent.

Blakey is contracted until the end of 2031, while Heeney's deal runs until the end of 2028.

Victoria Police confirmed earlier this month they had spoken with four people over the Swans scandal and their investigation into assault allegations linked to the club.

That led to the Swans' most recent public statement on the matter.

"We note that no charges have been laid and that police have indicated the process may take some time to run its course," the club said on September 2.

"As it remains a police investigation, it is not appropriate to comment further.

"The club again extends its sincere apologies to our members and fans, sponsors and the wider community, along with all of our staff and players across both the women's and men's programs, for the distress and disappointment this matter has caused."
