THERE'S been a major development at Sydney, with forward Joel Amartey set to join Carlton next month.
Amartey is a free agent and out of contract at the Swans and has been weighing up major interest from the Blues all season.
The 26-year-old played 15 senior games this year, but was overlooked for last weekend's preliminary final loss to Fremantle.
The key forward kicked 42 goals in 25 games as the Swans made the Grand Final in 2024, but has managed just 23 games since then due to a series of injuries and a suspension.
He has not played since the round 17 loss to Brisbane due to an Achilles issue and while he returned to full fitness this month, he was left out of Sydney's side for finals.
Charlie Curnow (75 goals) and Logan McDonald (51) led Sydney's forward line this year, while Hayden McLean kicked 16 goals in 12 games as the third forward in Amartey's absence.
