Neale's failed Tribunal hearing on Tuesday night means Brisbane will have to make one change for the decider unless he can take it to the Appeals Board and get the ban overturned. Answerth ran strongly at training on Tuesday although there was nothing that included agility (in front of the cameras anyway). He is a strong chance to be available but will be tested on Thursday. He could return to defence, shuffling Jaspa Fletcher to a wing and give more midfield minutes to Levi Ashcroft and Hugh McCluggage. If Answerth doesn’t get up, Bruce Reville, Lincoln McCarthy, Dan Annable and Will McLachlan would all put their hand up. - Michael Whiting

Brennan Cox has been declared available by the Dockers after recovering from a calf injury and completing an "AFL-like training load" on Saturday. The key defender was withdrawn from Peel Thunder's WAFL Grand Final team on Sunday to give him the best preparation for Saturday's AFL decider, and the match committee must now decide if he comes in after being sidelined since August 22. Oscar McDonald has filled Cox's role well and shapes as the most likely player to make way if a change is made. Cox is part of the Dockers' best 23, but his lack of continuity will be weighed up by coach Justin Longmuir. Ruckman Sean Darcy, small defender Brandon Walker, speedster Chris Scerri and wingmen Nathan O'Driscoll and Jaeger O'Meara are all on the cusp of selection, but the Dockers' stability and lack of injuries will likely work against them. – Nathan Schmook
