Early each week, AFL.com.au's Riley Beveridge will discuss the topic that deserves a reaction at your club and grade it on the 'Urgency Index'.

It could be anything from an issue that's got a team pondering drastic change, or the form of an underrated star that requires immediate recognition.

The gradings, which relate specifically to the topics, are as follows:

In this week's Reaction Time, we look back at the most remarkable Grand Final in memory, delving into the unsung hero who helped changed Brisbane's fortunes, as well as the Fremantle mistake that summed up the Wharfiewobbles.

A word for Josh Dunkley, who should have been neck-and-neck with Will Ashcroft in Norm Smith Medal voting and instead got … no votes? The toughest 21-disposal performance you'll ever see. It included 14 contested possessions, 12 tackles, eight intercept possessions, a game-high 12 groundball gets, a team-high 30 pressure acts, and a couple of ripping smothers – first on Shai Bolton, then on Caleb Serong – that rescued a guaranteed Dockers goal and will now live on in Lions folklore. That's now four flags for Dunkley, and six Grand Finals, in a truly stellar career. No player embodies the fighting and dogged Brisbane spirit more than him. He is one of this League's great midfielders.

Urgency Index: Flying.

Of all the errors made post-Wharfie Time, surely the most egregious was the passage that led to the Logan Morris goal that put Brisbane in front? When the ball got to Hugh McCluggage on the bounce and he turned and looked up, a kick-and-a-half from goal, he saw only two players inside the Lions' forward-50. Morris and Oscar McDonald. For context, there were 110 seconds left in a one-score Grand Final where Brisbane had kicked the last two goals. Where was Josh Treacy? Where was Jye Amiss? Where was Pat Voss? When possession first turned over, Treacy was 40m from Fremantle's goal. Amiss was on top of the Fremantle goal square. Voss was inside the goal square. So, why wasn't the entire Dockers side flooding back? Yes, the Alex Pearce injury desperately hurt Fremantle, leaving McDonald isolated with Morris, but how did it get to this? Why hadn't the instruction got through? Was any instruction delivered in the first place? Extraordinary.
