IN-DEMAND Brisbane midfielder Sam Marshall has requested a trade to St Kilda, according to AFL.com.au's Cal Twomey.

Marshall, a 2025 premiership player, has been weighing up interest from Essendon and the Saints as well as the possibility of staying at the Lions.

He had also attracted some interest from Melbourne and the Western Bulldogs.

The 20-year-old played 11 games last year, including the Grand Final, but managed only two at AFL level in 2026.

He was drafted at pick 25 in the 2024 draft – outside the top 20 that enforces three-year standard deals for draftees - and his two-year deal at the Lions has come to an end.

He was a Brisbane Academy product but spent the final years of his schooling at Melbourne Grammar on a scholarship.
