NICK Blakey hasn't given up on seeking a trade from Sydney despite having five years remaining on his contract, with AFL.com.au's Cal Twomey reporting rival clubs are continuing to assess a potential move for the star defender.
Speaking on Continental Tyres AFL Trade Radio on Tuesday, Twomey reported that Blakey remains open to leaving Sydney after he was one of five Swans players suspended by the club last month.

While Sydney maintains it has received no indication from Blakey or his management that he intends to seek a trade, Twomey said clubs are aware the 26-year-old was still considering a move.
"Nick Blakey has not given up on seeking a trade out of Sydney this Trade Period," Twomey said.
"Blakey has made clear over the past month that he would consider a trade away from Sydney following the Pullman Hotel scandal.
"It's more live than I thought, and the cogs are working away in the background at the moment to see if anything can progress.
"As of yesterday, Sydney had not heard from him one way or the other … in terms of his commitment to next year.
"What I can say today is that clubs are aware Blakey is still looking to consider a move and hasn't given up on chasing that. So, previously reported around his interest in Geelong as his destination, and I believe that still carries through in terms of his interest there."

Twomey added that any potential breakthrough would ultimately depend on how hard Blakey himself pushes for a trade.
On Monday, Sydney head of list strategy Chris Keane shut down talk of Blakey leaving the club.
"We've had no indication from Nick or his management about that. Nick has five years to run on his contract, so, again, like the other four boys, we expect him to be back at the club next year," Keane said.
"This time of year, I understand the speculation, and those conversations are heightened. Obviously, given the calibre of player he is and the situation, I can understand the question, but, again, we've had no indication that that's even something he's pursuing. So, we expect him to be back at the footy club."
