RICHMOND has traded for Fremantle winger Nathan O'Driscoll in a fast-moving deal for a fourth-round pick.Â
O'Driscoll, 24, played 55 games for the Dockers over six seasons, including 17 this year, but fell out of the team after the qualifying final loss to Hawthorn.Â

He will join a rebuilding Richmond side in need of experience to complement the host of draftees selected over the past three seasons.Â
O'Driscoll joins the Tigers on a three-year deal, the same length of contract that was on offer from the Dockers before he decided to explore his options.Â
"Nathan has had a good taste of AFL football across his six years at Fremantle and is hungry to take his game to the next level. He played 17 games this season and plays the game the right way," Richmond executive general manager of football talent Blair Hartley said.
"At 24, he will complement what we have on the list and bring a skill set that suits the way we want to play with his running power and ability to cover the ground at a high speed.
"He is a quality young man, and we are excited to see him playing on the MCG in the yellow and black next year."
The Western Bulldogs had some interest in O'Driscoll but that cooled after the Dogs had Port Adelaide star Zak Butters nominate them as his preferred next club.Â
O'Driscoll was drafted at pick No.27 in the 2020 AFL Draft. His brother, Aiden, was drafted by the Bulldogs at pick No.55 in the 2023 draft but was forced to retire in May the following year, without making his debut, after suffering a serious concussion during pre-season training.Â
"It's never easy having a player depart the club, but Nathan was out of contract at the end of this season and was keen to seek opportunity elsewhere for his AFL career," Fremantle head of player personnel David Walls said.
"The deal also allows us to get another pick in this year's draft which we are supportive of.
"We wish Nathan all the best in the future and thank him for his time at Fremantle."
