A MAMMOTH five-club mega deal has been approved by the AFL, with Port Adelaide, Melbourne, the Western Bulldogs, Hawthorn and Carlton completing one of the most complex swaps of the trade period.
The deal sees the Power slide back two spots in this year's draft but significantly strengthen their future hand, securing picks 6 and 10 as well as future first-round selections tied to the Demons and the Dogs.

Melbourne has emerged with a major haul this year, moving up to pick 4 while also landing 12, 31 and 46.
The Bulldogs add Finn Maginness from Hawthorn and Hudson O'Keeffe from Carlton while collecting picks 81 and 87 as well as a suite of future picks, with picks 12 and 31 and their 2028 first-round selection heading out as part of the trade.
Hawthorn receives a 2027 third-round pick tied to Port Adelaide for Maginness, while Carlton secures a 2028 fourth-round pick tied to Port Adelaide after sending O'Keeffe to the Bulldogs.
Melbourne list manager Tim Lamb stressed the importance of what appears to be a small move upwards at the top of this year's draft.
"Moving from pick six to pick four is a significant outcome for us and something we were really keen to achieve," Lamb said on the Demons' website on Friday.
"We wanted to get inside the top four to maximise our opportunity to secure elite young talent, so we're really pleased with that outcome. We believe the first round of this year's draft is really even after the top echelon of players."
"Given next year is heavily compromised by not only Tasmania coming in but Father Son and Academy selections, we were happy to trade out of next year to gain extra selections this year."
Hawthorn national recruiting and list manager Mark McKenzie pointed to the value the club's acquired selection in 2027 will hold at this year's draft, while thanking Maginness for his time in gold and brown.
"As a father-son Hawk, Finn will always remain an important part of the Hawthorn fabric, and we thank him for his contribution to the club over the past seven seasons," McKenzie said.
"The additional draft capital we receive as part of this trade will give us more flexibility across this trade period."
The Bulldogs pointed at Maginness' profile as 'a hard-running mid-forward with elite tagging ability' in their assessment of the trade.
