ST KILDA assistant and head of development Matt Brewer will take charge of the team for the remaining three weeks of the season, after Nick Dal Santo stepped down last week.
Brewer is in his first season at St Kilda, having previously served with Melbourne's AFLW program for four years, looking after the midfield and backline.
He was Casey Demons' VFLW coach across the 2024 and 2025 seasons.
“While the circumstances are not what anyone would have anticipated, I’m grateful for the opportunity to lead this group over the next three games,” Brewer said.
“Despite the challenges we’ve faced this season, there’s still a lot of belief within the group and a real commitment from our players, coaches and staff to keep improving.
“The next few weeks are really important. Our focus is on getting better, competing strongly and finishing the season as well as we can.”
Brewer's first task will be Fremantle at Cockburn ARC Oval on Sunday, before back-to-back games at RSEA Park against Brisbane and Port Adelaide to round out the season.
St Kilda's remaining coaching panel include assistants Matt Skubis and Jack Frost, with former AFLW ruck Al Downie serving as a specialist coach.
The Saints recorded a breakthrough first win against Collingwood on Saturday, but remain anchored to the bottom of the ladder with a 1-8 record.
