WEST Coast has traded ruckman Callum Sinclair for Sydney Swans speedster Lewis Jetta.
The pair will be traded in a straight swap, with Sinclair, 26, heading to the Swans after Jetta decided he wanted to return to West Australia.
The deal was finalised on Wednesday.
Sinclair emerged this season at the Eagles but sees security and opportunity at the Swans.
Jetta, 26, had requested a trade home to Western Australia prior to the NAB AFL Trade Period starting.
Sinclair had been a required player at the Eagles after playing 20 games this year, including all three finals, as back-up to Nic Naitanui.
Sinclair, who was contracted for next season, was understood to be keen to stay at West Coast until the Swans showed 'significant interest' in him.
Eagles football manager Craig Vozzo told NAB AFL Trade Radio on Monday the club was initially keen to hang on to Sinclair and not include him in a deal for Jetta.
But following the decision to trade their first-round pick (No.17) for Brisbane Lions midfielder Jack Redden, and the AFL's decision to give an end-of-second round compensation pick (currently No.37) for losing restricted free agent Scott Selwood to Geelong, the Eagles were left with limited options.
West Coast’s general manager of football Craig Vozzo said the club was thrilled at its midfield additions.
"Lewis offers us some attributes which few players possess, particularly his line-breaking pace and elite kick," Vozzo said.
"We had two key targets going into the trade period and it’s great to now have Lewis and Jack (Redden) on board."
Sinclair leaves the Eagles having played 29 games after being recruited as a mature-age rookie in 2013.
The Eagles are now thin in the ruck department with Naitanui and Scott Lycett the only two pure ruckmen on their list. The next tallest player currently on the Eagles' list is Fraser McInnes, who is a 197cm ruckman/forward.
Jetta played 127 games with the Swans over six seasons, including the 2012 premiership when he was the club's leading goalkicker and was selected in the All Australian 40-man squad.
The inclusion of Jetta and Redden into the Eagles' midfield has resulted in veteran Matt Rosa requesting a trade after 168 matches with the Eagles over 11 seasons.
