ST KILDA has elevated three of its five rookies, including small forward Ahmed Saad, ahead of its round one clash against Greater Western Sydney on Sunday.

Saad, former Sydney Swan Adam Schneider and Jack Sinclair were all upgraded to the club's senior list on Thursday.

Saad played 29 games for the Saints in 2012 and 2013 before serving an 18-month suspension after testing positive to a banned substance.

The Saints redrafted the 25-year-old as a rookie last December.

St Kilda's were three of eight rookies elevated ahead of their respective season openers.

North Melbourne small forward Robin Nahas was brought onto the senior list as a replacement for injured defender Daniel Neilson and West Coast's Kane Lucas for Eric Mackenzie.

Collingwood
Corey Gault upgraded as replacement for Brent Macaffer. Levi Greenwood also placed on the long-term injury list.
