EMERGING Adelaide defender Sam Kerridge is in doubt for round one after injuring his hamstring at training.

The 21-year-old running machine played 14 games last year, flexing his muscle in attack and as a run-with midfielder.

He gathered eight possessions and kicked a goal against North Melbourne in Port Lincoln but sat out last Thursday night's loss to Geelong.

On Thursday afternoon, the club was yet to determine the severity of Kerridge's untimely hamstring strain, which ruled him out of Saturday's final NAB Challenge game against Port Adelaide.
