WEST Coast has named troubled youngster Murray Newman alongside ruckman Nic Naitanui and forward Mark LeCras for Sunday's top-four clash with the Western Bulldogs at Domain Stadium.

The Eagles stuck by Newman after he was jailed for six months last year on a grievous bodily harm charge.

He played four games in his debut season in 2012 but has not played since. He was promoted off the rookie list following some good form in the WAFL this year and has been rewarded with an opportunity against the Bulldogs.

Naitanui returns to the Eagles' line up after missing two games following the death of his mother, while LeCras is back after a one-match suspension. The Eagles have opted for medium-sized defender Jackson Nelson instead of key defender Tom Barrass, who is an emergency.

Sam Butler (hamstring), Will Schofield (hamstring), Chris Masten (suspension) and Scott Lycett (knee) are all unavailable.

Teams: this round's full line-ups

The Bulldogs will travel without veterans Matthew Boyd (soreness) and Liam Picken (back), and have omitted Sam Darley after two senior games.

Promoted rookie and "free spirit" Roarke Smith will play his first AFL game after solid VFL form across half-back.

Daniel Pearce will play his first game since round 19, 2012, while defender Jason Johannisen returns to the side after missing two weeks with a hamstring problem.

North Melbourne has named Ryan Bastinac as the replacement for the suspended Jack Ziebell for Sunday's clash with Fremantle at Etihad Stadium.

Jamie Macmillan has also been included at the expense of Taylor Garner.

Fremantle has not included another key forward after skipper Matthew Pavlich was ruled out on Thursday with Achilles soreness.

Luke McPharlin has been named to return from a calf injury and Zac Dawson has also been picked as the only other inclusion with key defender Alex Silvagni suspended for the next four weeks.

Lachie Henderson has played his last game for Carlton after telling the club he wants to be traded and won't line up against Melbourne on Sunday at the MCG. Nick Holman and Clem Smith have also been omitted.

John Barker has named Levi Casboult after a week out with a knee issue and Jason Tutt has also been included.

Troy Menzel has been named after doing enough at VFL level but Chris Yarran remains on the outer.

Melbourne has made three changes with Christian Salem returning after missing last week with illness.

Ben Newton and Billy Stretch have also been named, while Neville Jetta is out with a neck injury and Matt Jones and Rohan Bail have both been omitted.
