Nine things we learned from round seven

After the siren: Port's season is circling the drain. Here's why

WELL, that round couldn't have ended soon enough. There are only so many late withdrawals, game-ending injuries and underperforming premiums that us Fantasy coaches can take. Luckily, despite the carnage, there were a few players who stood up to bring some respectability to our scores.

Fantasy Pig

After an indifferent start to the season, Luke Parker is back in Beast Mode. After an impressive 120 last week, the Sydney Swan looked like a man among boys on his way to 166 from 31 touches, 11 marks, five tackles and five goals against the Cats. With many coaches considering trading him out a few weeks ago, he will be high on the 'trade in' radar on the back of his Pig nomination.

Fantasy Prestigiacomo

This week's Presti goes to Demon Heritier Lumumba who, in a week of great need for many coaches, scored just 44 from 11 touches. It was a tough ask against the mighty Hawks but his score was well below par for an experienced performer who is capable of more.

Junior Swine

In just over a quarter, Karl Amon pumped out a score of 52 from nine touches and a goal despite the Power struggling against the Lions. Prior to this game, he was basement price at $120,000 and he has the potential to be a handy cash cow over the coming weeks.

Great work! A well-deserved reward for having bench cover.

Well played, that would have helped the old ranking!

Oh, the humanity! Bad luck mate… that's tough. You deserve a +12 for your team name.

Goes to show it was a tough week for all. Nice rank by the way!
