BRISBANE will play in its second straight NAB AFL Women's Grand Final after Collingwood upset Adelaide at Olympic Park Oval on Sunday to open the door for the Lions.

The Lions will take on the Western Bulldogs next Saturday, March 24 at Ikon Park due to the Carlton venue's capacity of more than 20,000 having the edge over the Dogs' regular home ground VU Whitten Oval.

The Magpies, who finished the season in sixth spot, were impressive in coming from behind halfway through the third quarter when the Crows were in control and seemingly poised for an attempt at back-to-back premierships.

"Ikon Park is now fondly remembered as the venue of the first ever AFLW match where a huge crowd crammed in to witness history," AFL head of women's football Nicole Livingstone said.

"We want to ensure AFLW members and fans have the opportunity to attend the first AFLW Grand Final to be played in Melbourne and Ikon Park offers a capacity of just over 20,000."

It was heartbreak once again for Melbourne, with a two-point loss to the Bulldogs ruling the Demons out of Grand Final contention after they entered the final round in second position.
