INJURY-CURSED defender Hugh Goddard and forward Nathan Wright have joined Nathan Freeman in being shown the exit door at St Kilda.

Category B Irish rookie Ray Connellan has also been told he's no longer required, as AFL.com.au reported on Sunday.

Like Freeman, Wright has had an injury-riddled career, managing just 35 games after being selected with pick 24 in the 2012 NAB AFL Draft.

Freeman, pick 10 in the 2013 AFL Draft, had worse luck, only making his senior debut in round 20, having switched from Collingwood to the Saints at the end of 2015.

"Nathan's (Freeman) journey has obviously been well-documented, and it was a really proud moment for everyone involved in his career to see him debut this year," St Kilda football boss Simon Lethlean said in a statement.

"He has left no stone unturned to overcome persistent hamstring issues, and his positive influence on the group despite his injuries is testament to his character."

Goddard, 22, and Wright, 24, also had their fates confirmed at exit meetings in the last 24 hours.

"Hugh is another who has showed great resilience after two serious injuries, and who leaves the Saints highly respected for his professionalism and commitment to the club," Lethlean said.

"Nathan (Wright) really set the standard at the club for selfless, team-first football, while Ray has given everything over the past two seasons to make the step from Gaelic football to the AFL."

The Saints haven't ruled out making further changes to their list as they set about luring key targets during the upcoming trade and free agency period.

The Moorabbin club has been linked to Swans midfielder Dan Hannebery and Eagles ruckman Scott Lycett.
