THE WESTERN Bulldogs have confirmed the re-signing of sharpshooter Tory Dickson, locking him in on a new one-year deal.

AFL.com.au flagged a new contract for Dickson, who turns 31 later this month, in August.

He has lined up in just 17 games over the past two years, with soft tissue injuries having plagued him in that time.

However, Dickson showed he has lost none of his pace when he chased down Essendon speedster Conor McKenna in round three.

"I'm rapt to get another year at the Bulldogs and I'm excited to continue the journey," Dickson told westernbulldogs.com.au.

"I feel like I've got plenty to offer the team next season.

"After a frustrating season with injuries, I'm looking forward to getting back to full fitness and playing my role every week."

Since being drafted at No.57 in 2011, he has played 96 matches.

List and recruiting manager Sam Power explained why the Dogs gave the 2016 premiership player another season.

"Tory is a valuable member of our playing group, and his experience and forward craft will continue to be important for the team next year," Power said.

"Tory has had his fair share of bad luck with injuries in the last two seasons, and with a consistent run next year we're excited about what he can produce for us."
