AFTER missing out on three votes for his 37-disposal, three-goal game against Adelaide in round 10, Melbourne midfielder Angus Brayshaw was "pretty flat" as he watched the Brownlow Medal count from a mate's couch.

"I was like 'Argh, I've missed my chance (to get three votes in a game). That was it!" he told the AFL Exchange podcast.

Little did he know he had a few more votes coming.

"My two best mates and I were sitting there. I remember the last four rounds, where I think I got eight votes, it got to almost a fever pitch in my mate's basement where we were watching it," Brayshaw said.

So what did he do when the count ended and he'd finished in an unlikely third place?

"I took all my clothes off... well I had my underwear on... and we just took off down the road running and screaming!"
