RICHMOND is preparing for the 2019 AFL season with a week-long pre-season camp on the Gold Coast.

Hundreds of Tigers fans turned out at Bond University on Monday to greet their heroes, who have also taken part in strength and wrestling sessions as they seek to emulate their 2017 premiership this year.

The club's previous two pre-season camps have been held on the Sunshine Coast.

Physical performance manager Peter Burge said the change of venue allowed the club to polish its football program and integrate its younger players into the group.

The camp runs until Friday.
