WESTERN Bulldogs forward Aaron Naughton has set Marvel Stadium alight with a dominant second quarter against Richmond on Saturday night.

Naughton caused the Richmond defence all kinds of headaches during a purple patch in the second term, where he kicked three goals in eight minutes.

The highly touted youngster also showed off his contested marking prowess with five marks inside 50, including an incredible hanger where he soared over three Richmond defenders before coolly slotting the goal.

It was a stunning return to form for Naughton, who endured a torrid game against Fremantle last week that had coach Luke Beveridge questioning opposition defenders' treatment of his young star.

Naughton started his new forward role this season with three goals in round one but was held goalless in the previous two weeks against Fremantle and Carlton.
