UMPIRES will wear specially designed shirts during Sir Doug Nicholls Round.

The shirts feature artwork by Worawa Aboriginal College student Rose Archie (pictured) and former school student Zephaniah Neil. They were launched at the school in Healesville in Melbourne's outer-east on Tuesday.

Archie's artwork of the black whip snake spans across the middle of the shirt; it symbolises Aboriginal culture.

Neil was behind the turtles which appear on the shoulder of the umpire shirt. Her design, which was also featured on the 2018 shirt, represents water, turtles and the Torres Strait Island communities.
