PORT Adelaide excitement machine Xavier Duursma is in doubt for the Power's season-defining clash against North Melbourne with a foot injury.

AFL.com.au understands the 19-year-old has been battling a bruised heel and been kept to restricted duties at Alberton this week.

The Power are expected to give the wingman every chance to prove his fitness before the clash on Saturday night at Marvel Stadium.

Power defender Ryan Burton is expected to return from a four-week hamstring injury to face the Roos, having suffered multiple complications this season.

Small forward Zak Butters is also in the frame for selection after he was a late withdrawal last week with a sternum injury, while Steven Motlop is pushing for a recall after five goals in the SANFL.

Mid-season draftee Cam Sutcliffe has a fight on his hands to retain his spot after playing the past five matches.
