GOLD COAST general manager of list and strategy Craig Cameron has confirmed the Suns' interest in Adelaide midfielder Brad Crouch, but there's 'a lot of water to go under the bridge' before it comes to trade discussions.

The Suns have had some preliminary talks with Crouch's manager but have not approached the Crows yet. One of the talking points has been how much Crouch could earn, and while Cameron said it's not what has been reported, it's a high asking price.

MILLION-DOLLAR MAN? In-demand Crow's big price

"It's certainly a healthy view of his financial position," Cameron told Telstra AFL Trade Radio of what Crouch's management put forward.

The Suns received a significant draft compensation package from the AFL and according to Cameron it's an 'important roll of the dice' rather than a 'last roll'.

Gold Coast now holds picks one and two in the upcoming NAB AFL Draft, but they are 'not off the table' when it comes to a potential trade.

"It would take something extraordinary to move those selections," Cameron said.

Instead, the Suns are more open to using some of the future selections they have been given as trade chips.

Jack Martin could also hand the Suns a strong hand at the draft and trade table, with the Suns valuing him as a first-round selection.

The utility has requested a trade to Carlton and Cameron has had 'preliminary discussions' with the Blues, while another unnamed club also inquired about Martin.

Cameron said he hasn't had any discussions with the Western Bulldogs at all about Martin, despite previous links.

Quick hitters

- Jack Lukosius is 'off the table' in any deal. Cameron sees him as a 195 centimetre rebounding defender.

- The Suns will wait for premiership Tiger Brandon Ellis to head to the Jack Dyer Medal, but it's expected that proceedings with him will happen 'fairly quickly'.

- Hugh Greenwood has requested a trade to the Suns and will play in the midfield and as a third tall forward. Cameron says the club is looking to trade in players they expect to slot in as 'best 22' material.

- Callum Ah Chee's trade to Brisbane should go through fairly smoothly and should happen very early in the Trade Period.
