FREE Agent Jarrad Waite should remain at Carlton, according to Blues champion Chris Judd.
Waite, the 31-year-old out-of-contract forward, has been in top form for three consecutive weeks, taking 26 marks and kicking 12 goals. He has played 181 games since making his debut in 2003.
Judd told Fox Footy he doesn't know whether Waite will continue his career at the club where his late father Vin played in two premierships.
But he made it clear he thinks he should.
"He [Waite] is certainly playing great footy for us. He is a respected member of the group and I think after all he has been through with the footy club, in terms of the lean years, I think it would be a smart decision on his behalf to be part of what is coming," Judd said.
Waite has reportedly attracted interest from other clubs and shapes as one of the most keenly sought after free agents who remains unsigned.
Judd also said he still thought there was a role at the club for out-of-contract duo Mitch Robinson and Jeff Gartlett.
Garlett and Robinson found themselves in hot water with the club last week after allegedly being assaulted in the CBD at 5am on Sunday morning.
The club was disappointed they were out so late but the situation was made worse when the players did not tell the club the truth about the incident. Robinson told the club he had fractured his eye socket in a sparring incident when he had, in fact, being the subject of the alleged assault.
The club fined Robinson and the injury has likely ended his season. Coach Mick Malthouse said Garlett had been in line for a senior recall before the incident.
"They have four weeks to win back the respect of the playing group and we certainly haven't drawn a line through them," Judd said.
When asked specifically about Robinson's future Judd gave a general answer.
"I think he has still got plenty to offer our footy club," Judd said.
