AS WE wait for the resumption of the 2020 season, everyone is finding some things to do to pass the time. AFL Fantasy coaches are no different.

Most have had enough of playing around with their three trades ahead of round two, so The Traders put together a challenge.

The premise is simple; pick a squad of 18 players selecting one player from each club. Using the 2020 Fantasy positions, build a squad of five defenders, seven midfielders, one ruck and five forwards.

Roy, Calvin and Warnie had a crack with some similar players across the board.

They trio shared Rory Laird, Sam Docherty, Dan Houston and Jake Lloyd as four of their five defenders, but there were several clubs where they made some very different positions.

Each of the teams had different rucks in what was an interesting experiment. See their teams on the AFL Fantasy Twitter and the Official AFL Fantasy Facebook pages.

In this week’s episode …

The pick one challenge was taken up a notch to take on a Draft format.

Again, selecting 18 players, The Traders took it in turns to choose players from each club in order to compile their squads. Like most Fantasy Drafts completed in the pre-season, Brodie Grundy was the first player off the board.

What followed was a some extremely interesting strategy that saw plenty of laughs across the Zoom call.
