HAWTHORN champion Jarryd Roughead toured St Kilda's Moorabbin facilities this week as he ponders his next step for life after football in 2020.
The four-time premiership Hawk is weighing up several options as clubs push to secure his services for off-field roles including leadership, development and list management.
Gold Coast is also still in conversations with Roughead as he leaves the door open to a move interstate.
Roughead, who remains in the dark over a possible farewell game, was given the green light by coach Alastair Clarkson and Hawks football boss Graham Wright to meet with rival clubs before season's end.
The off-field approaches to Roughead have closely mirrored Nick Maxwell's role at Collingwood in leadership and culture.
SLIDING DOORS Damien Barrett asks, and answers, the big questions
The Saints have been looking to bolster their football department under new leadership and have been spruiking the appointment of leadership consultant and rugby league icon Billy Slater to prospective players.
Roughead also remains in close contact with Suns chief executive Mark Evans and coach Stuart Dew after building relationships with the pair in their time at the Hawks.
