FREMANTLE has received a boost ahead of Friday night's Grand Final rematch against Hawthorn, with small forward Hayden Ballantyne signing a three-year contract extension.

The new deal will ensure Ballantyne, 26, will remain at the Dockers until at least the end of the 2017 season.


"I love the club, I love everything about it," Ballantyne told the club's website.

"I’m really happy that my family and I are staying here for another three years.

"This is my job, this is what I get paid to do and I’m very happy that the club has a lot of faith in me to be here for another three years to play some good football."


Ballantyne has played 88 matches for the Dockers after been recruited with pick No. 21 the 2008 NAB AFL Draft, the same year he won the Sandover Medal playing in the WAFL for Peel Thunder.
 
He said he never considered moving elsewhere.
 
"It's a no brainer, I'm happy here," Ballantyne said.
 
"We have such a strong culture, we have great leaders, great coaches and it's such a great club to be at.
 
"I love coming in to work every day and doing what we do."
