TOP-FOUR sides Hawthorn, Geelong, Fremantle and the Sydney Swans have provided half of the players selected in the Four'N Twenty All Australian squad of 40 named on Tuesday with five each, while fifth-placed Richmond has been snubbed.

Twenty-five of the players nominated are in line to make their first All Australian team when the final 22 is named in Melbourne on Monday, September 16.

They include Greater Western Sydney youngster Jeremy Cameron, who is bidding to become the first Giant to win All Australian selection.

Gary Ablett is the 'old hand' of the nominees, the Gold Coast Suns captain all but certain to secure his seventh consecutive All Australian selection after a stellar 2013 season that has him favourite to win the Brownlow Medal.

Geelong defender Corey Enright, Hawthorn spearhead Lance Franklin, St Kilda captain Nick Riewoldt and Magpie star Dane Swan are all in contention to make their fifth All Australian teams.

North Melbourne belied its 10th-place finish with four of its players nominated.

The Brisbane Lions, Carlton and Melbourne joined Richmond as the only clubs not to have a player nominated.

Some of the players unlucky to miss the squad include Brisbane Lion half-back Pearce Hanley, Carlton defender Andrew Walker, Essendon defender Michael Hibberd, Geelong star Steve Johnson, Richmond spearhead Jack Riewoldt and Western Bulldogs clearance king Tom Liberatore.

The All Australian selection panel is Andrew Demetriou (chairman), Kevin Bartlett, Luke Darcy, Mark Evans, Danny Frawley, Glen Jakovich, Cameron Ling and Mark Ricciuto.
