HAWTHORN has announced it will promote rookies Will Langford and Jonathon Ceglar to its senior list at next month's NAB AFL Draft.

Langford, the son of four-time premiership full-back Chris, made his AFL debut in round 17 this season against the Western Bulldogs.

A fearless midfielder who can play as a tagger, he enjoyed an excellent season for Box Hill at VFL level.

Ruckman Ceglar played two games for the Hawks in 2013, after being delisted by Collingwood at the end of last year.

Hawthorn list manager Graham Wright told hawthornfc.com.au the 22-year-old had attracted interest from rivals during the off-season, forcing the club to elevate him to the senior list to avoid losing him.

In promoting Ceglar and Langford, the Hawks have also delisted South Australian half-back Derick Wanganeen.

After three years on the rookie list, Wanganeen had to be promoted or cut.

Hawthorn will now have three live selections in the NAB AFL Draft – picks 24, 38 and 56 – and four selections in the December rookie draft.

The Hawks will also officially welcome New Zealanders Kurt Heatherley and Shem Tatupu as category B rookies, after committing to the pair earlier this year.

Both are key position prospects who have been identified and developed via the club's New Zealand scholarship program.
