North Melbourne midfielder Andrew Swallow has been named in the Australian squad to take on Ireland in the International Rules series beginning later this month.

Swallow, who capped a fantastic season with his second Syd Barker Medal, will travel to the Kangaroos' high-altitude training camp following the second test at Metricon Stadium on November 4.

The Australian team is made up predominantly of youngsters, with the North Melbourne number nine one of the more experienced players in the 24-man squad.

Swallow averaged over 25 possessions a game in 2011 and finished third in the league for clearances.
