THE 2008 AFL Army Award celebrates those courageous acts played out on the football field; the selfless "one-percenters" that put team ahead of individual.

The three nominees for round one are Geelong’s Corey Enright, the Sydney Swans’ Ryan O’Keefe and St Kilda’s Clinton Jones.

Enright was nominated for his effort when he tapped the football to a teammate and then shepherded to assist a goal.

O’Keefe got his nod for a fantastic chase and tackle with just five minutes to go and the game in the balance.

And Jones was nominated for his much-replayed gutsy effort in running back with the flight of the ball and marking.
