ADELAIDE star Brad Crouch has put rival teams on notice, revealing he would be willing to leave the Crows at season's end if he is asked to do so by the club.

Crouch, who is the reigning Adelaide best and fairest winner, is one of this season's most prized restricted free agents and attracted the interest of Gold Coast during last year's Telstra AFL Trade Period.

However, the winless Crows could earn a lucrative first-round draft pick as compensation should Crouch command a decent offer elsewhere, potentially landing Matthew Nicks' side the top two selections at this year's NAB AFL Draft.

Should the offer be deemed big enough, a compensation pick for Crouch would likely fall immediately after Adelaide's first selection at the draft, which currently stands at pick No.1, potentially handing the Crows a fantastic base to kickstart their rebuild.

Adelaide is also in possession of Greater Western Sydney's first-round draft pick courtesy of a deal made last October, which currently sits at pick No.5.

"I love Adelaide as a place and I love the footy club," Crouch told Channel Nine.

"I really want to stay in Adelaide, so it's a really hard one for me. If the club wanted me to walk, it's going to be really tough. I'd probably have to do it, because that's the best place for the club to go."

Crouch, who said he was in "no rush" to renew contract discussions after the freeze on signing deals was lifted on Tuesday, was believed to have been asking for as much $1 million per season last year.

An offer in that ballpark put forward to Crouch by a rival team later this season would almost certainly hand Adelaide a first-round compensation pick, giving the Crows the top two selections at the draft.

"The circumstances we're in at the footy club at the moment, it's different," Crouch said.

"The way the list is at the moment is a lot different to what it was two or three years ago.

"As a free agent, if I do leave then Adelaide will obviously get compensated."

Crouch, 26, is a prolific midfielder who is averaging 22.4 disposals per game so far this season.
