The West Perth Football Club is the oldest club in WA football. It’s won the second highest number of WAFL premierships and has one of the greatest traditions in WA football history. WPFC operates across diverse sections of the community male and female football teams to junior districts in both metropolitan and regional areas.

An exciting opportunity is now available for an experienced sports administration professional with a high level of financial acumen and a demonstrated ability of building sustainable relationships with a variety of stakeholders including government entities, commercial partners, peer organisations and the community, to become the Chief Executive Officer at West Perth Football Club. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Chief Executive Officer is implementing and managing the strategies agreed by the Board to ensure the financial and non-financial sustainability of the Club.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Generate, develop and maintain revenue streams from traditional and non-traditional football sources
  • Ensure strict financial governance principles are adhered to
  • Provide strong, modern leadership of all departments of WPFC
  • Lead our community engagement and ensure connectivity with our zone in partnership with our District staff, General Manager Football Operations and Talent Manager
  • Ensure a high-performing and inclusive culture within our Football Club

As the successful candidate you will have:

  • Demonstrated marketing expertise, fund raising and business development capabilities
  • Strong relationship building capabilities and communication skills
  • Highly experienced in key leadership and stakeholder management roles
  • Demonstrated financial and commercial acumen, including budget management.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of good governance principles
  • Proven experience of developing and working within governance, compliance and regulatory frameworks
