AFL Statement

The AFL advises the Match Review of last night’s matches of Round 15 has been completed. Two charges were laid.

Charges Laid:
James Worpel, Hawthorn, has been charged with Engaging in Rough Conduct against Lachlan Murphy, Adelaide Crows, during the second quarter of the Round 15 match between Hawthorn and the Adelaide Crows, played at Adelaide Oval on Tuesday September 1.
 
In summary he can accept a $1000 sanction with an early plea.
 
Based on the available evidence, the incident was assessed as Intentional Conduct, Low Impact and Body Contact. The incident was classified as a $1500 sanction as a first offence. The player can accept a $1000 sanction with an early plea.
 
Nic Naitanui, West Coast Eagles, has been charged with Wrestling during the third quarter of the Round 15 match between West Coast Eagles and Essendon, played at the Gabba on Tuesday September 1.

In summary, he can accept a $500 sanction with an early plea.

A first offence for Wrestling is a $750 sanction. An early plea enables the player to accept a $500 sanction.
